October 2026: Free PostgreSQL Demos and Easier Team Selection

You can now try PostgreSQL on Sliplane for free, explore every server, database, and bucket option before adding a payment method, and choose which team a tool gets access to when you connect it.

Free PostgreSQL Demo Databases

Teams without a payment method can now create a PostgreSQL demo database, just like a demo server. Pick the Starter or Base tier with its included storage, and the database is free for 48 hours.

Here is how it works:

• In the create dialog, demo tiers show a Free demo badge and a price of 0 €.
• The database card and the list header show a countdown, so you always know how much time is left.
• To keep it, click the countdown, choose a billing cycle, and see the full price before anything is charged. Your database converts to a paid one in place, without losing data.

Larger tiers and extra storage need a payment method. Resizing or restoring a demo database requires turning it into a paid one first.

Explore Every Option Before You Pay

The create dialogs for servers, PostgreSQL databases, and buckets no longer stop you at the door. Without a payment method you can select every option and see its price. Options you cannot create yet are marked with a small icon that tells you what is missing, either a payment method or more quota.

Adding a payment method is now a single step. It takes you straight to the billing portal, and nothing is charged there. When you come back, your selection is restored and the summary shows what is due today, including VAT. If you already have resources, a short overview lists what you pay from now on.

Choose the Team When You Connect a Tool

When you authorize a tool such as the Sliplane CLI or an MCP client, the consent page now has a team picker if you belong to more than one team. Choose the team the tool should work in before you approve, instead of switching teams beforehand.
